Yellowstone is set to return for the second half of season 5 after a year hiatus.
The future of the Paramount+ show, and Kevin Costner’s involvement, was up in the air until recently. After months of delays and behind-the-scenes drama, Costner will be exiting the series due to conflicts with his new film Horizon.
The absence is also reportedly due to a conflict between showrunner Taylor Sheridan and Kevin. Production on season five part two has officially begun, and the show is set to premiere in November 2024.
While little is still known about the new season, the cast will still be raking it in on the upcoming season. Here’s a breakdown of how much each member of the cast makes.
Kevin is one of the highest paid actors on television, and Yellowstone has a lot to do with that. Taste of Country reported he makes $1.3 million per episode by season 5 of the show.
That’s an increase from season 1, when he made about $500,000 per episode. The show has averaged about 5.49 million viewers each episode, which could contribute to the increase.
Beth has become a fan favorite for her abrasive personality. Kelly’s been a part of the project since the beginning, likely earning about $700,000 per episode.
Even as the show wraps up its fifth season, some of the cast have teased a potential spin off, specifically with Beth and husband Rip.
While Cole started as a supporting cast member, he’s been bumped up to main. He initially made about $200,000 per episode in season one, but now makes $700,000 per episode, Taste of Country reported.
Cole and creator Taylor thought the audience would detest Rip as a character in the beginning, but were surprised by the positive response.
Playing John Dutton’s youngest son, Luke reportedly makes $200,000 per episode. He stars as one of the central figures of the show with the rest of the Dutton family.
Though millions of people watch his performance each week, he refuses to watch the show. He says the part has been his “dream role,” and he fears he’ll watch himself “and not like what I did.”
While Monica started out as a side character, her role became more prominent as the series has gone on. Kelsey plays the Native American wife of Kayce Dutton.
Now, season four and five feature her significantly. She’s reported to make $200,000 per episode.
As the last member of the Dutton family, Wes earns about $200,000 per episode as Jamie.
While fans are eagerly awaiting the release of the second half of season five, many are turning to theories about what will happen, including conflict between Jamie, Beth and John.
